With a regal presence from its aristocratic past, the Afghan Hound has a smooth elegant stride, long silky coat, and aloof yet dignified demeanor. While requiring regular grooming to prevent matting, Afghans shed little and their exercise needs can be met with daily walks or runs. Originally bred to hunt hares at high speed, Afghans are fast, agile sight hounds.
